Thompson <br />Highlands <br />Time Frame March 1, 1989 <br />Elementary <br />Elementary <br />- October 1, 1989 <br />River <br />March <br />April 3:30 - 6:00 pm Monday - Friday <br />May 9:00 am - Noon Saturday <br />Sept. <br />June/July/August - 6 week Summer Program <br />9:00 elm - 3:00 pm <br />PROGRAMS: The basic program would be after school <br />activities in athletics, playground <br />activities, crafts and study/reading <br />room. <br />The summer program would be playground <br />activities and crafts combined with <br />beach, skating and school lunch program. <br />STAFF: *Supervisor Vero Beach Recreation <br />Teacher and teacher aide from each school. <br />COST: <br />*NOT PART OF COST - Supervisor of staff with' <br />training, program planning, safety, <br />registration, advertising, time records, <br />etc. <br />STAFFING: <br />83 days 1March, April, May, Sept.) <br />2.5 hours per day <br />4 people <br />830 hours el 510.00 (to include SS <br />and WC) = <br />=8.300.00 <br />Summer Program - June/July/August <br />1in conjunction with School Board) = <br />$8.000.00 <br />Materials, supplies, first aid records,.etc out of <br />existing budgets. <br />As the success of this program becomes evident - monies <br />for continuation will be requested in 1989-90 budgets. <br />Commissioner Bird believed we can find the $16,500 within <br />the present Recreation budget by taking $7,000 that was allocated <br />for another picnic pavilion in Gifford Park. They have indicated <br />they would be agreeable to deleting that additional pavilion this <br />year and having those funds used to provide recreation in other <br />parts of the county, which he felt is generous on their part. <br />56 <br />
