14 1989 <br />BOOK 76 PAGE 105 <br />Commissioner Bowman felt that because Director Baird has <br />done so much to care care of this county, she would like to see <br />him better taken care of. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. The Motion <br />failed by a vote of 2-3, Commissioners Wheeler, <br />Eggert and Bowman dissenting. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, that the Board authorize the <br />payment of the total cost of $21,334.28 for unused <br />vacation hours for those employees listed in the <br />above memo, and begin strict adherence to the policy <br />that employees will either take their vacation time or <br />lose it. <br />Under discussion, Commissioner Scurlock asked what kind of a <br />budget amendment would be necessary, but Director Baird did not <br />feel one would be necessary due to turnover. He advised that he <br />would check into every account, and if one is necessary, do one <br />after the fact. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION.
