CHANDLER <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />TERRANCE G, PINTO <br />DIRECTOR OF UTILITX S$RVICES <br />WILLIAM F. McCAIN <br />PROJECTS ENGINEER <br />DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />AWARD OF BID FOR RIVER EDGE REVERSE OSMOSIS PLANT <br />CONSTRUCTION <br />BACKGROUND <br />Approximately one year ago, the Department of <br />authorized the consulting firm of Camp, Dresser & <br />to prepare specifications for a deep well and for <br />Plant based on the test results from the finished <br />five bids for the Water Plant. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The five bids received are as follows: <br />Hydro -Pro <br />Itek <br />Harn <br />Osmonics <br />Allen Environmental <br />$73,364.00 <br />$74,461.00 <br />$78,848.00 <br />$87,770.00 <br />$98,000.00 <br />Utility Services <br />McKee, Inc. (CDM) <br />a Reverse Osmosis <br />well. We received <br />The firm of Camp, Dresser & McKee, Inc. evaluated the bids (see <br />attached letter from CDM). The two lowest bidders, Hydro -Pro and <br />Itek, both submitted responsive proposals and are both qualified to <br />do the job. CDM recommends awarding the contract to Hydro -Pro since <br />it is the lowest bid. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve the award of this contract to <br />Hydro -Pro in the amount of $73,364.00 and by doing so approve the <br />forth coming contract documents. <br />67 <br />FEB 2 E 1989 <br />BOOK 76 P OF 287 <br />
