FEB 28'989. <br />BaOK6 PAGE 292 <br />RENAMING AND EXPANDING THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY MARINE <br />ADVISORY BOARD <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 2/13/89: <br />TO: The Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Gary C. Wheeler, Marine Advisory Board Chairman <br />DATE: February 13, 1989 <br />SUBJECT: Renaming and Expanding the Indian River County <br />Marine Advisory Board <br />At the most recent meeting of the Marine Advisory Board, <br />there was discussion of the substantial overlap between the <br />material under consideration by the Marine Advisory Board <br />and the Narrows Watershed Action Committee set up by the <br />Marine Resources Council of East Florida. <br />Since many of the same people serve as members of both <br />committees, and since much of the work of each committee was <br />duplicative of the other, and since joinder of the <br />committees would both be more efficient and would promote <br />the intergovernmental coordination efforts required under <br />the Local Government Comprehensive Planning and Land <br />Development Regulation Act, it was the recommendation of the <br />Marine Advisory Board that it be expanded and consolidated <br />with the Narrows Watershed Action Committee. The Director <br />of the Marine Resources Council, Diane Barile, also <br />concurred. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt the attached Resolution re-establishing, renaming, and <br />expanding the Indian River County Marine Advisory Board and <br />repealing Resolution No. 87-22. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 89-25, re-establishing, renaming, and <br />expanding the Indian River County Marine Advisory Board <br />and repealing Resolution 87-22. <br />72 <br />
