Budget Amendment #051 - South County Recreation Program <br />The Board reviewed memo of the OMB Director: <br />TO: Members of the Board <br />of County Commissioners <br />DATE: February 21, 1989 <br />SUBJECT: BUDGET AMENDMENT 051 - <br />SOUTH COUNTY RECREATION <br />PROGRAM <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />FROM: Joseph A. Baird931 <br />OMB Director <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />At the Board of County Commission meeting of January 31, 1989, <br />Commissioner Dick Bird presented the Recreation Committee report. <br />Within the report staff and committee members had recommended <br />instituting a recreation program in the South County area which <br />was not budgeted in the 1988/89 fiscal year. The recreation <br />program is for children after school and is to be held at <br />Highlands and Thompson Elementary schools. The committee at the <br />advise of the recreation staff would like to eliminate a $7,300 <br />picnic shelter from the budget and also utilize $9,000 from <br />surplus salaries for positions that were budgeted but have been <br />vacant. Staff would like to use $15,000 for instructors on a <br />contractual basis and $1,300 for Operating Supplies. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve <br />the attached budget amendment appropriating funds for the South <br />County recreation program. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bird, the Board unanimously (4-0) approved <br />Budget Amendment #051, as follows: <br />10 <br />
