GOLDEN SANDS PARK - FINAL PAYMENT (BARTH CONSTRUCTION) <br />Public Works Director Davis reviewed the following: <br />TO: James Chandler <br />County Administrator <br />FROM: James D. White, P.E. <br />Acting County Engineer, <br />THROUGH: James W. Davis, P.E. <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: Final Payment - Barth Construction, Inc. <br />Golden Sands Park, Indian River County Project #8552 <br />DATE: February 27, 1989 <br />Description and Conditions <br />Barth Construction has requested Final Payment of Retainage for <br />work done on Golden Sands Park. Staff has inspected the work and <br />found it in order and complete. The retainageamount is <br />$22,378.39. <br />Recommendations and Funding <br />Staff recommends acceptance of the work and release of retainage <br />in the amount of $22,378.39 to be paid from Account # <br />310-143-572. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bowman, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Eggert, the Board unanimously (4-0) accepted <br />the work done by Barth Construction on Golden Sands <br />Park and authorized release of the retainage in the <br />amount of $22,378.39 as recommended by staff. <br />Commissioner Bird noted that he has been getting a lot of <br />favorable comments about the park and wished to congratulate <br />Public Works Director Davis and his staff for their work. <br />Commissioner Eggert believed that Director Davis had made <br />the remark that there is more that he wanted to do with Phase 1, <br />and Director Davis confirmed that he would like to do some more <br />landscaping to make the park look a little nicer, possibly some <br />additional sodding or ground cover. <br />Chairman Wheeler emphasized that he would like to see some <br />trees there as soon as possible, and discussion ensued as to <br />using the in- house tree spade we now have and the possibility of <br />being able to use some Tourist Tax funds. <br />34 <br />► ' AR 1989 <br />BOOK 76 FCL .., all <br />
