Davis, P.E. <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: Final Payment Request fol <br />Carter & Associates <br />Indian River County Project #8530 <br />Boundary Survey to <br />DATE: February 23, 1989 <br />Description and Conditions <br />Carter & Associates has completed boundary survey and prepared a <br />legal description of lands generally known as the "mosquito <br />impoundment" East of Indian River Boulevard at the golf course. <br />Carter & Associates has requested final payment in the amount of <br />$1,385.00. The County surveyor has reviewed the work and found <br />it acceptable. <br />Recommendations and Funding <br />Staff recommends approval of final payment in the amount of <br />$1,385.00 to Carter & Associates for the surveying services from <br />Account #309-000-206-044.00. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Eggert, the Board unanimously (4-0) approved <br />final payment to Carter & Associates in the amount of <br />$1,385, as recommended by staff. <br />Director Davis gave a brief status report on the Boulevard <br />North extension Phase III. He advised that staff will be going <br />to a meeting of the Governor's subcommittee on Managed Marshes on <br />March 15th in Naples to present the management plan for the <br />impoundment to mitigate the Boulevard filling. This is a very <br />important meeting relating to the environmental permitting phase <br />of the project, and Director Davis was very optimistic that the <br />committee would support our management plan. The next step is <br />R/W, and he felt it may be necessary to have outside attorneys if <br />we need to go to condemnation since our attorneys are overloaded <br />now. Director Davis was hopeful of being able to start <br />construction this summer. <br />39 <br />
