ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Eggert, the Board unanimously declared the <br />above described structures a nuisance, ordered said <br />buildings to be demolished by the County Road and <br />Bridge Department, and a lien to be filed against the <br />owner for costs of removal. <br />J. Keating, AICP <br />Director, Community Development Department <br />DATE: March 13, 1989 <br />SUBJECT: Demolition of Unsafe Structure <br />4825 32nd Avenue <br />Lot 19, Block 4, Smith Plaza Subdivision <br />FROM: Ester L. Rymer, Directo <br />Building Division <br />It is requested that the information herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at the meeting of <br />March 21, 1989. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />The above referenced structure (Parcel 22-32-39-00007-0040-00019.0) <br />is considered unsafe as defined in Indian River County Code of Laws <br />and Ordinances, Chapter 4, Article II, Section 4-16. <br />Itis the opinion of the Building Inspector and the Building Official <br />that said structures are beyond practical repair and are considered <br />a public nuisance; therefore, the structures have been condemned. <br />The owners were initially notified in 1986 that the structure should <br />be demolished, and that it was not worth repairing. The owner in- <br />sisted on making repairs, but the repairs made were not according to <br />code. Several attempts to contact the owner by certified mail <br />failed, and in 1988 staff spoke to the owner on the phone and advised <br />MAR 2 1 1989 <br />13 <br />BOOK 76 FAGS 405 <br />
