WILLIAMS .E0 -4A7 <br />MANAGER OF PROJECT ADMINISTRATION <br />DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On October 1, 1987, Indian River County contracted for the <br />construction of approximately 4,550 linear feet of 16" diameter <br />ductile iron pipe reclaimed water force main, approximately 1,700 <br />linear feet of 8" diameter PVC reclaimed water force main, four (4) <br />water quality monitor wells, two (2) subaqueous canal crossings, <br />valves, appurtenances, complete restoration and general site work, <br />complete and ready for operation. <br />The work covered under Contract #2 is now substantially complete. <br />We need to release 80% of the retainage for this project, in the <br />amount of $19,953.30. The remaining 20%, or $5,088.33 ,retainage, <br />shall be retained until final completion of the project. <br />,ANALYSIS: <br />We have reviewed the figures and find them to be in, order. It is <br />necessary to pay this final payment and release some of the <br />retainage for Partial Pay Estimate #5, which is attached. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that <br />payment for substantial completion be made to the contractor, <br />releasing 80% of the retainage for this project, in the amount of <br />$19,953.30, for work under Contract #2. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bowman, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Eggert, the Board unanimously approved <br />payment for substantial completion to A.O.B.
