APR 1 1 1989 <br />BOOK 76 PAGE 525 <br />WHEREAS, prior to providing final approval of the <br />grant, the DER requires that the Board of County <br />Commissioners approve, by resolution, the specific waste oil <br />recycling program for which the grant funds are to be <br />expended, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the <br />Solid Waste Disposal District is authorized and requested to <br />continue its pursuit in obtaining waste oil recycling grant <br />funds and to utilize those funds in the implementation of <br />a waste oil recycling program, including but not limited to <br />the following: <br />With the proposed grant funds, the Solid Waste <br />Disposal District intends to establish four oil recycling <br />collection centers. The centers will be located as follows: <br />1. The Indian River County Landfill, <br />2. The Oslo Solid Waste Collection Center, <br />3. The Fellsmere Solid Waste Collection Center, and <br />4. The Roseland Solid Waste Collection Center. <br />A waste oil collection tank of 560 to 1,000 -gallon <br />capacity will be provided at each collection center. The <br />tanks will be mounted in a concrete spill containment area <br />to control and recover any spillage or leakage. The <br />containment area will be roofed to provide shelter for the <br />oil recycling operations as well as preclude rain water from <br />collecting in the concrete spill containment area. The <br />tanks and spill containment area will be designed and <br />constructed in compliance .with standards set by DER's tank <br />rules. <br />A 1,000 -gallon tank will be mounted on a roll -off <br />0.0 <br />container for transfer of waste oil from the three other <br />solid waste collection centers to the county landfill, which <br />will serve as the main depot for all waste oils collected. <br />10 <br />
