Tuesday, April 25, 1989 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River C unty, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, <br />April 25, 1989, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Gary C. <br />Wheeler, Chairman; Carolyn K. Eggert, Vice Chairman; Richard N. <br />Bird; Margaret C. Bowman; and Don C. Scurlock, Jr. Also present <br />were James E. Chandler, County Administrator; Charles P. Vitunac, <br />Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; Joseph Baird, OMB <br />Director; and Barbara Bonnah, Deputy Clerk. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Chairman Wheeler requested as Item 1 under the Consent <br />Agenda, the addition of a resolution stating the County's <br />opposition to the raising of height limits and densities in the <br />downtown area of the City of Vero Beach. <br />Chairman Wheeler requested the deletion of Item -9B - FCC <br />Request to Purchase Permanent Antenna Space on Hobart Tower. <br />Chairman Wheeler also requested the addition of the <br />following items: <br />1) Update and report of the County Correctional Planning <br />Committee on Phase III of the Jail and the proposed <br />stockade program. <br />2) Resolution asking the State to designate a portion of <br />the Sebastian River as a manatee protection area. <br />3) Resolution opposing proposed State legislation exempting <br />siting of schools from local land development <br />regulations. <br />4) Scheduling of Special Meeting for approval of bonds to <br />refinance Utilities debt. <br />Commissioner Eggert requested the addition of the <br />architectural specifications for the North County library. <br />ASR 1989 <br />Boor <br />76 fv,,E67i <br />
