APR 251999 <br />BOOT 76 PAGE 71.4 <br />Commissioner Bowman advised that in addition they are asking <br />permission to hire a lobbyist with the assessment for each county <br />to be on a per capita basis. <br />Commissioner Scurlock wanted to think about that, and asked <br />Commissioner Bowman to bring back further information on the <br />matter. <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMITTEE REPORT <br />Commissioner Bird read the following Summary of Actions <br />dated 4/13/89: <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE <br />. SUMMARY OF ACTIONS <br />APRIL 13, 1989 <br />The following is a summary of actions for the April 13, 1989 <br />meeting of the Parks and Recreation Committee: <br />1) There was a brief review of the Recreation and Open Space <br />Element draft. There was no Committee action. <br />2) The Roseland Property Owners Association sent a letter <br />requesting several things. The Committee's recommendations <br />were: <br />Name the park in'Roseland the Roseland Community <br />erect a proper sign; <br />Parks crew will clean up and repair the existing. <br />tables and benches; <br />Park and <br />picnic <br />The request for a large covered picnic pavilion will be <br />referred to the North County Recreation Committee for <br />inclusion in their 1989-90 capital expense budget; <br />Jim Davis will check on the condition of the dock and boat <br />ramp and report back to the committee on the cost of <br />repairs. <br />(3) The County received a letter from DER on water quality <br />issues. We are not in compliance at Wabasso Beach Park, <br />Hobart Park and Dale Wimbrow Park. It was recommended that <br />staff look into what is needed to bring the County into <br />compliance and report back to the committee on the cost. <br />(4) There has been some vandalism in Gifford Park. The cranks <br />on the tennis courts need repair, and it was recommended <br />that the park gate be locked at 10:00 P.M. each night. <br />44 <br />
