Attorney Brennan is preparing a synopsis of <br />these Bills, and he would like to delay action on this until <br />after June. <br />COMMISSIONERS SCURLOCK AND EGGERT AGREED TO WITHDRAW <br />THEIR MOTION. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Eggert, the Board unanimously (4-0) tabled <br />action on the above item as suggested by the County <br />Attorney. <br />REQUEST FOR COMMISSION SUPPORT REGARDING NEED FOR BRANCH POST <br />OFFICE IN WEST COUNTY <br />The Board reviewed staff memo, as follows: <br />TO: Board of County CommissioneiQATE: May 2, 1989 FILE: <br />SUBJECT: Need for Branch Post <br />Office in Western Part <br />of Indian River County <br />FROM: Alice E. white REFERENCES: <br />•; ::.;.; _ Administrative Secretary II <br />Our office received a call from Mr. Robert Warrick, 7000 20th <br />Street, #732, Vero Beach, Florida 32966 (Telephone 567-2874) <br />requesting assistance from the County Commission in obtaining a <br />branch post office in the western part of the county. He said he <br />contacted the local post office and was referred to the Orlando <br />office; that office informed him that a building would have to be <br />built. <br />Mr. Warrick wondered why space could not be leased or rented in <br />the Ryanwood Shopping Center. He asked that the County <br />Commission endorse his request and write a letter to the Orlando <br />postal service specifying a need for a branch post office in the <br />western part of the county, and recommending that they consider <br />leasing space, possibly in the Ryanwood Shopping Center. He felt <br />that a letter from the County Commission would carry more weight <br />than one from an individual resident. <br />44 <br />
