r <br />It AY 1 6 1989 <br />BOOK 76 FAH 887 <br />Liz Forlani, Administrative Assistant to the Board of County <br />Commissioners, read aloud the following title of the proposed <br />ordinance: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 6 (COURTS) OF <br />THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO ADD ARTICLE III <br />ESTABLISHING THE DRUG ABUSE TRUST FUND; <br />PROVIDING FOR AUTHORITY FOR ENACTMENT OF <br />ARTICLE; PROVIDING FOR DEFINITIONS; <br />PROVIDING FOR CREATION AND ACCOUNTING OF <br />DRUG ABUSE TRUST FUND; PROVIDING FOR <br />EXPENDITURES; PROVIDING FOR <br />SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR FILING WITH <br />THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE; PROVIDING FOR <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE; ADOPTION; AND <br />CODIFICATION. <br />The Board reviewed the following memo and letter dated <br />4/25/89 and 5/13/89: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Sharon P. Brennan - Assistant County Attorney <br />DATE: April 25, 1989 <br />RE: Drug Abuse Trust Fund Ordinance <br />On March 28, 1989, this Board gave conceptual approval <br />to the proposed Drug Abuse Trust Fund Ordinance which <br />would establish a system for collection of funds to <br />assist drug treatment and education programs. <br />The Board authorized advertisement for public hearing, and <br />the ordinance is being presented today for public hearing. <br />34 <br />
