MAY 11 E 1989 <br />BOOK 76 PAGE 879 <br />APPRAISERS FOR PHASE III OF INDIAN RIVER BOULEVARD <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 5/12/89: <br />TO: The Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM --i% James Davis - Public Works Director <br />-0-)L William G. Collins 11 - Assistant County Attorney <br />1)... -1 -Donald Finney - Right -of -Way Agent <br />DATE: May 12, 1989 <br />SUBJECT: Appraisers for Phase III - Indian River Boulevard <br />Pursuant to Board direction at the meeting of May 2, 1989, <br />staff has obtained fee quotes from a group of appraisers <br />with the ability and expertise to perform the appraisals for <br />Phase III of Indian River Boulevard. (See attached <br />summary.) <br />RECOMMENDATION AND FUNDING <br />Authorize retention of the two low bidding appraisal firms, <br />W. H. Benson & Company of Palm Bay, Florida for $9,500.00 <br />and Callaway & Price, Inc. of Fort Pierce, Florida for <br />$11,500.00. (Proposals attached.) <br />Funding to be from Fund #309-214-541-033.13. Balance as of <br />4/30/89 is $256,916. <br />Assistant County Attorney Bill Collins advised that a couple <br />of weeks ago the Board authorized negotiations with the 4 <br />appraisers who had indicated they could do the work within the <br />timeframe on Phase III of Indian River Boulevard, and staff is <br />requesting authorization to retain the two low bidders. He <br />explained that this item was placed on the Agenda today as an <br />emergency item because we are trying to move as quickly as we can <br />in order to meet the June 30th deadline. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously <br />accepted the emergency in this matter and approved the <br />retention of the two low bidding appraisal firms, W. H. <br />Benson & Company of Palm Bay, Florida for $9,500, and <br />Callway & Price, Inc. of Fort Pierce, Florida for <br />$11,500, as recommended by staff. <br />46 <br />
