He didn't have any problem in telling <br />her that the County would like more than $100 for it, but the <br />question is how much more should we ask for. If we go for an <br />appraisal, it probably will cost more than what we will realize <br />from the sale. Director Davis felt that if we go to her and <br />offer her the property for $1,000, she would leave it just as it <br />is since she is enjoying the use of it now anyway. He was not <br />quite sure it. was much of a benefit for her to own it as she just <br />wants to be able to park there legally. The City would not want <br />her to build a garage there, however. <br />Chairman Wheeler felt that if we have a piece of property <br />that is of no use to the county, particularly a very narrow band <br />of it like this, and particularly when we can maintain the <br />easement, we should return it to the tax roll and at least get <br />some return out of it. <br />Administrator Chandler advised that we have a rough estimate <br />of $800 on this property, but noted that today's request is just <br />to initiate the procedure. <br />Commissioner Bird agreed that the value would be somewhere <br />in the $800 neighborhood. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Scurlock being absent), approved staff's <br />recommendation as set out in the above memo. <br />QUN 2 0 1989 27 <br />BOOK.
