As stated above, approval has been received from the Division <br />of Communications to levy the fee for the next fiscal year. If <br />approved by the Board of County Commissioners, the Resolution <br />will be forwarded to Southern Bell Telephone Company so that <br />the fee will be implemented effective October 1, 1989. <br />The surcharge is a small fee to pay for the level of service <br />provided to the populace wherein each citizen is assured of a <br />timely response protecting life and property on a twenty-four <br />hour basis.
