MCCAIN <br />PROJECTS ENGINES <br />SUBJECT: MODIFICATION TO WORK AUTHORIZATION NO. 1 <br />INDIAN RIVER BOULEVARD FORCE MAIN CONTRACT <br />IRC PROJECT NO: US -88 -20 -CCS <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On February 20, 1989, the Board of County Commissioners approved <br />Work Authorization No. 1 with Lloyd & Associates, Inc., for the <br />design of the Indian River Boulevard Force Main. We wish to make <br />several modifications to the existing Work Authorization. The first <br />modification is specific to Work Authorization No. 1; the second is <br />to change insurance requirements for all Lloyd Work Authorizations <br />with the Utilities Department. (See attached original of Work <br />Authorization No. 1 referring to Insurance.) <br />ANALYSIS: <br />The modifications are as follows: <br />1. The Project Limits and Scope of Work (Sections I and II) are <br />amended to include a 10 inch force main down 10th Street from <br />6th Avenue to Indian River Boulevard. <br />2. The Professional Liability Insurance Requirements of Section <br />XVII, B is changed to allow a $300,000 deductible, but require <br />a coverage amount of $3,000,000. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends approval <br />of the attached amendment to Work Authorization No. 1. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Eggert, the Board unanimously approved <br />amendment to Work Authorization No. 1 as recommended <br />by staff. <br />37 <br />JUL IS 1989 <br />LAOD 77 <br />
