AUG 1198,,E <br />'r.�C 8 <br />Mrs. Ruth Chapman of Rockridge Subdivision spoke of the <br />Rockridge residents' thankfulness to have the sewer system that <br />has just been completed and wanted the Laurelwood residents to <br />realize what a severe health hazard has been eliminated for them. <br />She expressed her support of the Commission in their efforts to <br />have a regional system for the good of everyone. <br />The Chairman determined that no one further wished to be <br />heard and thereupon closed the public hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Eggert, the Board unanimously authorized <br />the Chairman to execute the Lease Agreement for <br />wastewater service with Customer. Service, Inc., and <br />approved implementation of the County wastewater <br />rates for the Customer Service, Inc., franchise area. <br />LEASE AGREEMENT <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this. day. <br />of 1989, by and between CUSTOMER SERVICE, INC., a <br />Florida corporation, hereinafter referred to as "Corporation", <br />and INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, a political subdivision of the State of <br />Florida, hereinafter referred to as "County", , <br />NOW WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, the Corporation owns and operates a sewer <br />system in Indian River County, Florida by virtue of a County <br />franchise known as 'Customer Service, Inc. Water and Sewer <br />Franchise'; and <br />' WHEREAS, the County furnishes water to sqme of the <br />citizens of Indian River County, Florida who are served by such <br />sewer system; and <br />WHEREAS, for reasons of efficiency and economy it is <br />desirable -that the County be authorized and empowered by the <br />Corporation for and on behalf of the Corporation to lease the <br />36 <br />
