Attorney Vitunac explained that he would like to offer a <br />plain contract to First Baptist Church in the amount of $175,000 <br />for the County to purchase Lots 12, 13, and 14 in Block 36 where <br />the old sanctuary was located. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Scurlock, that the Board authorize <br />the County Attorney to make an offer of $175,000 to <br />First Baptist Church to purchase Lots 12, 13, and 14 in <br />Block 36. <br />Under discussion, Commissioner Bird asked what these 3 lots <br />would be used for, and Commissioner Eggert advised that the <br />property would be used for the downtown complex. <br />Administrator Chandler believed we would need that property, <br />but he could not be sure until we see what the master plan calls <br />for. <br />Attorney Vitunac felt we should purchase that property <br />while we can. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION.
