'SEP I ROOK F' Ali95 <br />of Indian River Shores, and they have their own police protec- <br />tion, emergency medical services, etc. They are complaining that <br />they have dual taxation. <br />Mr. Banek commented that he just would like to see this <br />reamin a nice town for the average citizen. <br />The Chairman asked if anyone else wished to be heard on the <br />General Fund. { >>y <br />Mrs. Parks, 1026 35th Ave. SW, mainly complained about the <br />roads in her area and the fact that they are not plowed right. <br />She believed the County widened 31st, but they still have their <br />bumpy dirt road. She felt at least their roads could be plowed <br />right. <br />Commissioner Scurlock noted that the Administrator can take <br />a look at this situation, but advised that we do have a special <br />assessment program of petition paving. <br />Commissioner Bird explained how that special assessment <br />program works, and Administrator Chandler added that we have <br />received so many petitions over the last year or so that he has <br />been instructed to accelerate that program, and he would be glad <br />to give Mrs. Parks information on it. <br />Chairman Wheeler asked if anyone else wished to be heard on <br />the General Fund. There were none, and he thereupon closed the <br />public hearing on the General Fund. <br />Attorney Vitunac asked Chairman Wheeler to read aloud in its <br />entirety proposed Resolution 89-89 establishing the millage rate <br />for the General Fund at 5.1844 which is 90 over rollback. <br />9 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bird, the Board unanimously adopted Resolu- <br />tion 89-89 establishing a millage rate of 5.1844 (90 <br />over rollback) for the General Fund for fiscal year <br />1989/90. <br />12 <br />
