The applicant is requesting <br />that the Board follow the recommendation of the Planning & Zoning <br />Commission and approve the request for rezoning. <br />There being no others who wished to be heard on this matter, <br />the Chairman closed the Public Hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Ordinance 89-27, rezoning 18.5 acres from RS -3 to A-1; <br />that being the property generally located south of 21st <br />Street S.W., approximately 850 feet east of 43rd <br />Avenue. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 89- 27 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING <br />THE ZONING ORDINANCE AND THE ACCOMPANYING ZONING MAP <br />FROM RS -3, SINGLE-FAMILY DISTRICT TO A-1, AGRICULTURAL <br />DISTRICT, FOR THE PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED SOUTH OF <br />21ST STREET S.W., APPROXIMATELY 850 FEET EAST OF 43RD <br />AVENUE, AND DESCRIBED HEREIN, AND PROVIDING FOR <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, The Planning and Zoning Commission, sitting as the <br />local planning agency on such matters, has held a public hearing <br />and subsequently made a recommendation regarding this rezoning <br />request; and <br />WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County, -Florida, did publish and send its Notice of Intent to <br />rezone the hereinafter described property; and <br />WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners has determined <br />that this rezoning is in conformance with the Land Use Element of <br />the Comprehensive Plan of Indian River County; and <br />16 <br />
