ON MOTION by Commissioner Bowman, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Scurlock being absent) approved the <br />Amendment to Agreement to Investigate and Reduce, in <br />Indian River County, Pollution Caused by On -Site Sewage <br />Disposal Systems, Point Source Discharges, and Poorly <br />Maintained Water Retention Areas. <br />AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO <br />THE BOARD <br />Chairman Wheeler wished, if the Commission agrees, to send a <br />letter to the St. Johns River Water Management District, who <br />controls the S.W.I.M. funds advising them that there have been <br />some positive results in the Indian River from efforts afforded <br />by the -grant money received by the Dept. of Environmental Health, <br />and ask them,that they continue to budget and do whatever they <br />can to alleviate some of the problems in the lagoon., <br />Commissioner Bowman suggested telling them that we have been <br />very well pleased with the results so far. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bowman, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Scurlock being absent) approved the <br />Chairman's request to send a letter to the Water <br />District. <br />Commissioner Eggert wondered if there is going to be any <br />problem in the name change of the Sebastian River to the Saint <br />Sebastian River, and Attorney Collins said that it is just a <br />matter of getting it into common usage. <br />Commissioner Eggert suggested that the County start using <br />the legal name in all references to the river. <br />59 <br />OCT 1 ri 1989 <br />EOOK.
