Keating, AICP QMk <br />Community Development Director <br />October 23, 1989 <br />DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS <br />GRANT APPLICATION <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be- given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at their <br />regular meeting of October 24, 1989. <br />DESCRIPTION & CONDITIONS: <br />Recently, the county was notified by the state Department of <br />Community Affairs (DCA) that Indian River County has been <br />allocated $49,816 in grant funds for preparation of its land <br />development regulations. To receive these funds, an application <br />must be submitted to DCA by October 30, 1989. <br />ALTERNATIVES & ANALYSIS: <br />According to Florida Administrative Code, Indian River County <br />must adopt revised land development regulations consistent with <br />its updated comprehensive plan within one year of its plan <br />submission date. So the reviewed land development regulations <br />must be adopted by September 1, 1990. The subject grant will <br />provide a portion of the necessary funds to prepare the land <br />development regulations. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners <br />authorize the chairman to execute the attached grant application. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bowman, <br />being absent, the <br />the Vice Chairman <br />Commissioner Bird and Chairman Wheeler <br />Board unanimously (3-0) authorized <br />to execute Grant Application to the <br />DCA as described above. <br />OCT 2 4 199 <br />13 <br />22 <br />
