Rymer, Direc <br />Building Division <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal con- <br />sideration by the Board of County Commissioners at their regularly <br />scheduled meeting of October 24, 1989. <br />DESCRIPTIONS AND CONDITIONS: <br />On September 6, 1988, the Board of County Commissioners passed <br />Resolution 88-55 authorizing the Building Official to proceed on an <br />emergency basis in nuisance abatement of abandoned and dilapidated <br />buildings being utilized in the illegal dealing of crack cocaine in <br />the vicinity of Oslo Road:.. <br />Several buildings were involved. In some eases, the owners handled <br />the demolition; in other cases, the Building Official was left with <br />no choice but to have the buildings demolished by County crews. <br />The subject building was demolished by County Crews. To date, the <br />owners have failed to- make restitution to the County for the costs of <br />removal. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff requests the Board of County Commissioners authorize the County <br />Attorney's office to cause a Lien to be filed of record for the costs <br />of removal against the owner of the subject property pursuant to In- <br />dian River County Code Section 4-22. <br />OCT 2 4 1989 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bowman, Commissioner Bird and Chairman Wheeler <br />being absent, the Board unanimously (3-0) approved the <br />filing of a lien for costs of removal against the owner <br />of the above described property. <br />5 <br />BOOK b' 3 FAa <br />�L) <br />
