"SONNY" DEAN, DIRECTO <br />DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: INDIAN RIVER •COUNTY BID #89-96 <br />INSTALL AND SUPPLY SOD <br />'BACKGROUND:' <br />The subject bid for Install and Supply Sod was properly advertised <br />and Seven (7) Invitations to Bid were sent out. On September 27, <br />1989 bids were received. Seven (7) vendors submitted proposals for <br />the commodity. <br />,ANALYSIS: <br />Staff has reviewed the submittal to ascertain adherence to <br />specifications. Florida Sod was the lowest bidder to meet all <br />• <br />requirements. <br />d• <br />`FUNDING: <br />Monies for this project will come from Budgeted Road and Bridge <br />Accounts. . . <br />• <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />,l , <br />Staff recommends the award of an Open End Contract and authorize the <br />Purchasing Manager to renew the contract for one additional year <br />subject to satisfactory performance, no cost increase, vendor <br />acceptance, and determination the renewal is in the best interest of <br />the County. The initial contract period shall begin with the date of <br />award and shall terminate one (1) year from that date. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bowman, the Board unanimously (4-0), Commis- <br />sioner Eggert being absent, awarded Bid #89-96 to <br />the low bidder, FLorida Sod, as set out in staff's <br />recommendation and per the following Bid Tabulation. <br />NOV 7 1889 <br />25 <br />BOOK <br />78 FIA i 390 <br />
