NOV 7 1989 <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />HUBERT BYRD RETIREMENT <br />BOOK .78 FA.GE 277 <br />Hubert Byrd announced his retirement from Indian River County <br />Board of County Commissioners effective November 9, 1989 and we <br />wish to express our appreciations for his outstanding performance <br />on behalf of local government. <br />Hubert Byrd, orginally from Ann Arbor, Michigan where he was a <br />Journeyman Carpenter, moved to the Vero Beach area in August of <br />1971. <br />Hubert Byrd has been employed with Indian River County Board of <br />County Commissioners since November 5, 1979 with the Utilities <br />Department and then transferred to the Parks Division in July 15, <br />1985 as a Parks Foreman. <br />Hubert Byrd has been a very devoted and productive employee and <br />will be missed very much by the Parks Division. <br />The Board of County Commissioners expresses its' deepest <br />appreciation for the services Hubert Byrd has performed on behalf <br />of Indian River County. <br />The Chairman called Mr. Byrd forward, expressed the County's <br />appreciation of his service, and presented him with a plaque. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Chairman Wheeler asked that a Proclamation re "SCOUTING FOR <br />FOOD WEEK" be added to the Consent Agenda as Item 5.X. <br />Commissioner Scurlock requested that an emergency item in <br />regard to purchasing R/W for Indian River Boulevard Phase IV be <br />added under Public Works as Item 9.G.(4). <br />Commissioner Bowman wished to add under her matters appoint- <br />ment of an ad hoc committee to make recommendations re boating <br />safety and also adoption of a Resolution defending islands in the <br />Sebastian River against ownership claim by Standish Crippen, Jr. <br />The Chairman further advised that the Administrator wishes <br />to add under his matters a status report on the hiring of a <br />Construction Manager as Item 8.B. <br />2 <br />
