E. Leased Space - Washington Plaza, Sebastian <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 11/2/89: <br />DATE: NOVEMBER 2, 1989 <br />TO: HONORABLE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />THRU: JAMES E. CHANDLER <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />FROM: H.T. "SONNY" DEAN, DIRECTOR <br />DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERV <br />SUBJECT: LEASED SPACE - WASHINGTON PLAZA, SEBASTIAN <br />BACKGROUND: <br />As you are aware, we are currently leasing 1,125 square feet of <br />office space from Ed Schlitt, Inc., Realtors, for the Sheriff at <br />Washington Plaza in Sebastian. The present lease which will expire <br />November 30, 1989, is at an annual rate of $5,906.25 or $5.25 per <br />square foot. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />Mr. Schlitt has requested an increase in <br />of $6,187.50 or $5.50 per square foot. <br />of approximately 4.76%. <br />It is staff's opinion that this increase <br />cost is well below what is being paid for <br />It is anticipated there are monies in <br />increase. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />the lease at an annual rate <br />This represents an increase <br />is justified and the annual <br />other leased office space. <br />the budget to cover this <br />Staff recommends Board approval of the proposed price increase for <br />the subject space and request authorization for the Chairman to <br />execute a one year lease amendment to the original contract. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Scurlock being absent) approved a one- <br />year lease amendment to the original contract, as set <br />out in the above staff recommendation. <br />LEASE AMENDMENT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO <br />THE BOARD <br />NOV 14 T989 <br />7 <br />r=, � <br />BOOK i° C) FF.
