Chandler, <br />County Administrator <br />FROM: James W. Davis, P.E., 4, nom/ <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: SWIM Demonstration Project at Dale Wimbrow Park <br />REF. MEMO: Michael Walther, P.E., Coastal Tech to <br />Sebastian Watershed Action Committee <br />dated Sept. 6, 1989 <br />DATE: November 13, 1989 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The Sebastian Watershed Action Committee has requested <br />permission to use the Dale Wimbrow Park Boat Ramp area for <br />c nstruction of a surface water demonstration project under <br />a SWIM fund grant. The committee would like to construct a <br />retention/detention treatment pond with transitional wetland <br />vegetation. The County Public Works Department will provide <br />survey work, drafting, and construction. Grant funds will be <br />available from the SWIM Program for all materials. Coastal <br />Tech, Inc. will donate design services. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The Parks and Recreation Committee considered this request <br />on Nov. 9, 1989 at their regular meeting and unanimously <br />approved the project. <br />RECOMMENDATION AND FUNDING <br />It is recommended that the Board approve the Committee's <br />request to use Dale Wimbrow Park as a demonstration project. <br />No County funding is applicable. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />the Parks and Recreation Committee's request to use <br />Dale Wimbrow Park as a demonstration project, as <br />recommended by staff. <br />42 <br />
