certainly did not want a higher quality of life for a prisoner <br />than for a senior citizen. <br />Commissioner Bird stated that he would support the <br />Resolution, but did not know that he would want to support the <br />suit. <br />Chairman Wheeler stressed that he is just talking about <br />asking the State Association to send a message. <br />Commissioner Eggert agreed with Commissioner Scurlock that <br />we should be more specific. She believed Sheriff Dobeck said <br />they did challenge the amount of square footage required for a <br />prisoner, and that rule was relaxed. <br />Commissioner Scurlock commented that he was told that 80% of <br />these rules come from the Sheriffs themselves. <br />Chairman Wheeler advised that he will work with the legal <br />staff and come back with a Resolution and more information on the <br />lawsuit, and if we want to, we can make some specific <br />recommendations at that point to send to the League of Counties <br />The Board had no objections. <br />There being no further business, on Motion duly made, <br />seconded and carried, the Board adjourned at 10:35 o'clock A.M. <br />ATTEST: <br />DEC 5 i989 <br />Clerk "Chairman <br />65 <br />t ooF 78 Eu 570 <br />
