"SONNY" DEAN, DIRECTO <br />DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES <br />NORTH COUNTY OFFICE SPACE REQUIREMENTS <br />BACKGROUND: <br />As instructed by the Board, staff has looked at various alternatives <br />for office space in the north county that could be used by the <br />constitutional officers. In the process it was imperative that we <br />contact the various offices to ascertain their individual <br />requirements. <br />Property Appraiser - David Nolte is currently using the Sebastian <br />City Council Chambers one-half day per week. He would require <br />approximately 400 square feet of office area full time and twice a <br />year an additional conference room type area to accommodate the <br />public during tax time. It is his plans to share an area with the <br />Clerk of the Court for space needs above the 400 square feet. David <br />(does not anticipate an increase in area need by 1995. - - <br />�` Clerk of the Court - Jeff Barton does not presently occupy any space <br />in the north county. He would like to have 1,600 square feet now and <br />'.`share 400 of that with the Property Appraiser. Barton anticipates a <br />need of 1,650 square feet for his needs in 1995 not including the 400 <br />feet shared. -This space would be used on a daily basis. <br />?Tax Collector - Gene Morris is currently leasing 2,500 square feet in <br />Sebastian. This area _is sufficient forhis operations. Similar <br />space would suffice if it was'in the same physical shape as what he <br />now occupies. He does not anticipate any increase in area by 1995. <br />Morris uses his space on:a daily basis. <br />Supervisor of Elections - Ann Robinson does not currently occupy any <br />space in the north county. She needs approximately 800 square feet <br />which will increase to 1,200 square feet by 1992. In 1995 Ann <br />anticipates a need of, 1,500 square feet. She has no objections to <br />sharing a large area with other constitutional officer(s). This <br />space would be used on a daily basis according to Ann. <br />.�'.> <br />34 Sheriff - Tim Dobeck currently occupies 1,125 square feet of office <br />s ace at Washington Plaza in Sebastian. He has increased personnel <br />LI•tin that office and needs a total of 2,200 square feet now. In 1995 <br />he anticipates the need to be approximately 4,500 square feet. The <br />s ''space.is used daily. His present needs do not require outside <br />storage space. <br />J. Veteran Services - This office has been furnished space by the City <br />=:of Sebastian. We were put on notice by the City that they need this <br />space for their requirements. This office needs approximately 4,000 <br />square feet for their operations. <br />50 <br />
