It was noted <br />that what we have so far is their staff's recommendation. <br />Considerable discussion continued as to exactly what the <br />City Council itself understands about the fact that their <br />withdrawing will have a considerable financial impact on the <br />remaining customers on the system, and Director Pinto believed <br />that what the City has forgotten is that by withdrawing just from <br />sludge, they have chosen to raise the cost to those in the City <br />for septage also. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bird, Commissioner Bowman being absent, the <br />Board unanimously (4-0) directed staff to set up a <br />joint meeting with the City of Vero Beach as discussed. <br />Director Pinto thanked the Board for taking the time to go <br />through this meeting as he felt it is very important for them to <br />get a good handle on what is taking place. <br />Environmental Health Director Galanis felt that something <br />the Board needs to know is that every day there are thousands of <br />gallons of sludge coming into this county. We have it coming in <br />from Brevard County, Martin County, St. Lucie County, and as far <br />away as Clearwater. This is mainly because Indian River is a <br />rural county.
