ZINAICH <br />On August 15, 1989, the Board of County Commissioners <br />approved the sale of a 3.52 acres of land located north of Oslo <br />Road west of the lateral J canal to the Children's Home Society <br />for the sum of $25,000.00.- The proposed use of the land will be <br />for a runaway shelter and office facilities for use by the <br />Children's Home Society. At the time the sale was approved, the <br />Board determined that a time limit should be established in which <br />the Children's Home Society would be required to have a facility <br />in operation on the property. <br />Pursuant to the Board's requirement, a one-year time <br />limitation was approved by the Board. One year may not be <br />sufficient time for the Children's Home Society to have a <br />facility operating upon the property since accomplishing this <br />large dream will entail raising sufficient capital to build it, a <br />legislative allocation to operate it, and the time involved in <br />its actual construction, The Children's Home Society would like <br />the Board to extend the time limitation to a minimum of two years <br />and requests a 3 -year period. <br />A detailed explanation of the funding guidelines under <br />which the Children's Home Society must operate will be supplied <br />if the Board so requires.
