Claims settlement authority is divided among four par- <br />ties: Claims service firms working on behalf of the <br />Board, the Risk Manager, the Liability Claims Committee, <br />and the Board. <br />The Risk Manager may delegate claims authority to claims <br />service firms up to $1,000 for personal injury claims <br />and $5,000 for property damage claims. The Risk Manager <br />has settlement authority of $10,000 per occurrence for <br />covered claims. Claims above the Risk Manager's <br />authority level shall be referred to the.Liability <br />Claims Committee which shall have a maximum settlement <br />authorization of $50,000. <br />The Liability Claims Committee shall be composed of the <br />following members: <br />1) The County Administrator <br />2) The Risk !tanager <br />3) The County Attorney <br />4) The Director of Management & Budget <br />5) A representative of the participant or the depart- <br />ment against whom the claim is being asserted. <br />The Manual sets forth the manner in which claims are to <br />be presented to and settled by the Liability Claims <br />Committee. <br />Claims beyond the authority of the Liability Claims <br />Committee shall be referred to the Board. <br />PART 3 <br />EMPLOYEE LIABILITY PROGRAM <br />The Employee Liability Program provides coverage for <br />Workers' Compensation and Employees' Liability on a <br />basis similar to that available under a standard <br />Workers' Compensation insurance policy. The Employee <br />Liability Program provides a limit of $1,000,000 per <br />accident. <br />Claims settlement authority is divided among four par- <br />ties: Claims service firms working on behalf of the <br />Board, the Risk !tanager, the Compensation Claims <br />Committee, and the Board. <br />The Risk (tanager may delegate claims authority to claims <br />service firms up to $5,000 per accident. <br />The Risk Manager has $10,000 settlement authority to fbay <br />covered claims without prior approval by the <br />Compensation Claims Committee. <br />The Compensation Claims Committee shall consist of the <br />following members: <br />1) The County Administrator <br />2) The Risk Manager <br />3) The County Attorney <br />4) The Director of ftanagement & Budget <br />31 Boo. <br />MAR 61990 <br />
