BEUTTELL <br />CITRUS, INC. <br />CITRUS GROVE MANAGEMENT <br />& CONSULTING <br />LICENSED CITRUS FRUIT DEALER <br />As you know the traffic on Rosewood Road has not been <br />alleviated by any action of the transpbrtation committee. <br />The result of wait --ng 9 months for the committee to address <br />the excessive speeding problem on Rusewood Read was <br />absolutely nothing. As a group of more than 100 residents <br />who signed a petit. -ion to have the commission wit.igdt.c traffic <br />conditions on Rosewrod Road, we appeal to the commission to <br />put forth our issue to the full board as requested by our <br />petition and numerous letters to you. At this tima we <br />realize that discontinuing the use of t. lv bridge at King's <br />Highway is not going to happen but there are otner <br />alternatives which the county can enact to help our real <br />problem. <br />Please notify me of the date of o, -,r wing on the agenda. <br />Sincere'y yours, <br />I <br />George M. Beuttell <br />Chairman Eggert requested that Mr. Beuttell proceed on the <br />assumption that everyone here has read all the detailed backup on <br />this item and has a feel for the situation. <br />Commissioner Scurlock believed Mr. Beuttell has been before <br />the Board and the TPC numerous times and must feel some frustra- <br />tion. He did not know how the other Board members felt, but he <br />personally did not feel that 16th Street is a major road to pass <br />traffic from east to west. Certainly it is a public road and <br />must remain open, but he felt we should come up with some vehicle <br />to mitigate the traffic concerns. Commissioner Scurlock noted <br />that we originally had no plans to pave that road, and he did not <br />believe in anyone's concept it was ever designed to be a major <br />arterial. He has driven there over and over, and felt it seems <br />24 <br />
