ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 90-41, authorizing a residential rate <br />increase for Harris Sanitation, Inc., to $8.37 <br />($.13 less than staff's recommendation of $8.50) and <br />increasing the annual franchise fees to 6 percent; and <br />directed staff to move into regulation of all aspects <br />of solid waste in Indian River County and initiate the <br />same action uniformly with the other haulers, which <br />should not take any longer than October, 1990. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-41 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING <br />RESOLUTION 82-50, AS AMENDED BY RESOLUTIONS 86-23, <br />86-30 AND 86-113, WHICH NEW .AMENDMENT WILL <br />AUTHORIZE A RESIDENTIAL RATE INCREASE FOR HARRIS <br />SANITATION, INC., OF $3.12 PER MONTH AND INCREASE <br />ANNUAL FRANCHISE FEES TO SIX PERCENT. <br />WHEREAS, Harris Sanitation, Inc., notified the Department of <br />Utility Services in writing, as required by Resolution 82-50, Section <br />14, of a requested increase in its residential rates and submitted <br />justification; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Utility Services has reviewed <br />Harris Sanitation, Inc.'s request and, based upon a careful review of <br />the company's revenue and expenses over the past four years, <br />recommends that the requested increase amount of $3.12 be allowed; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Utility Services has also deemed <br />it necessary to increase franchise fees for Harris Sanitation Inc., <br />from one percent -to six percent; <br />29 <br />APR 31990 <br />[iQQI< �'`Gr U�1j <br />
