Baird, County Administrator <br /> DATE: September 16, 2013 <br /> SUBJECT: Recommendation of Lobbyist <br /> DESCRIPTION: <br /> During the last week, Glenn Heran and I held conference calls with three potential lobbying <br /> firms that could provide services related to the sale of the City of Vero Beach Electric System for <br /> the Board of County Commission. <br /> Based on these interviews and input from Glenn Heran, I recommend the Board engage the <br /> services of Ballard Partners. Attached is the letter of proposal from Ballard Partners in which <br /> they propose a monthly fee of $6500 for this agreement, which will include all work to be <br /> performed under the contract by Ballard Partners and their partner, McNicholas & Associates. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends the Board of County Commission approve engaging the lobbying services of <br /> Ballard Partners, and authorize the County Administrator to execute a written agreement, after <br /> the review and approval of the County Attorney, based on the attached proposal. <br /> APPROVED AGENDA ITEM Indian River Co Approved Date <br /> Administrator <br /> BY: • f Legal <br /> FO September 17, 2013 <br /> Attachment: Proposal <br />
