The meeting will be held <br />on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at the Polish -American Social Club, 7500 US <br />Highway 1, Vero Beach, FL 32967. The meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. <br />as an open house format. A project newsletter, which includes a location map for the <br />meeting, is enclosed. Notices are being sent to all property owners located within at <br />least 500 feet on either side of the existing roadway and to other public officials, <br />regulatory agencies, organizations, and individuals interested in the project. The <br />meeting is being conducted to give interested persons an opportunity to express their <br />views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic, and <br />environmental effects of the proposed improvements. <br />The Alternatives Public Meeting is being held as part of a current Project Development <br />& Environment (PD&E) Study. This study is being conducted to evaluate proposed <br />transportation solutions for this segment of SR 5/US 1 and to provide documented <br />information necessary for FDOT to reach a decision on the type, design, and location of <br />the improvements. The project is being developed to reduce congestion, enhance <br />safety, and achieve an acceptable level -of -service while minimizing potential impacts to <br />the natural and human environments. The purpose of this project is to study the <br />widening of SR 5/US 1 from four to six lanes. <br />Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, <br />religion, disability or family status.
