The meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at the Polish -American Social Club, 7500 US Highway 1, Vero Beach, FL 32967. The meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. as an open house format. A project newsletter, which includes a location map for the meeting, is enclosed. Notices are being sent to all property owners located within at least 500 feet on either side of the existing roadway and to other public officials, regulatory agencies, organizations, and individuals interested in the project. The meeting is being conducted to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements. The Alternatives Public Meeting is being held as part of a current Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Study. This study is being conducted to evaluate proposed transportation solutions for this segment of SR 5/US 1 and to provide documented information necessary for FDOT to reach a decision on the type, design, and location of the improvements. The project is being developed to reduce congestion, enhance safety, and achieve an acceptable level -of -service while minimizing potential impacts to the natural and human environments. The purpose of this project is to study the widening of SR 5/US 1 from four to six lanes. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status.
