PROCLAMATION <br />DESIGNATING NOVEMBER 16 THROUGH NOVEMBER 22, 20 4, AS <br />NATIONAL HUNGER AND HOMELESSNESS AWARENESS EEK <br />WHEREAS, The Homeless Family Center of Indian River County h s provided <br />emergency shelter, food, clothing, hygiene, counseling and employment assist nce to over <br />117 homeless families this year; and <br />WHEREAS, despite Indian River County boasting one of the highest per capita <br />passive incomes nationwide, the average "working poor" income of Indian Rivr County is <br />$650 per month; and <br />WHEREAS, 100% homeless people served in the programs offeed by the <br />Homeless Family Center were families with children; and <br />WHEREAS, the Homeless Family Center, in cooperation with The So rce, Camp <br />Haven, and the Samaritan Center, as part of National Hunger and Ho elessness <br />Awareness Week, desire to raise awareness of this issue and its severity in o r County. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD Or COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, that the week of Novembe 16, 2014, <br />through November 22, 2014, be designated as <br />NATIONAL HUNGER AND HOMELESSNESS AWARENESS WEEK <br />Adopted this 18th day of November, 2014. <br />AVER C� �- <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIO ERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORID <br />Peter D.
