He maintained that the 75% recycling goal can be <br /> reached through education of the CCC employees and <br /> customers. <br /> MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Solari, SECONDED <br /> by Chairman O'Bryan, to authorize staff to: (1) approve the <br /> distribution of the Public Notification for the closing of the <br /> Winter Beach Customer Convenience Center (CCC); and (2) <br /> approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the Fifth <br /> Amendment to Republic Services' landfill contract for the <br /> closing of the Winter Beach Customer Convenience Center, and <br /> to reduce the annual contract by $250,000. <br /> Vice Chairman Davis mentioned that a lot of material is brought <br /> to the CCC's around the holidays. <br /> MOTION WAS AMENDED by Commissioner Solari, <br /> SECONDED by Chairman O'Bryan, to keep the Winter Beach <br /> Customer Convenience Center open on Monday, December 29, <br /> 2014; Tuesday, December 30, 2014; and Wednesday, December <br /> 31, 2014. <br /> Vice Chairman Davis advocated keeping the Winter Beach <br /> Customer Convenience Center open for one week after <br /> Christmas. <br /> AMENDED MOTION WAS ALTERED by Commissioner <br /> Solari, SECONDED by Chairman O'Bryan, to shut down the <br /> Winter Beach Customer Convenience Center permanently on <br /> January 5, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. <br /> Director Burke discussed staff's plans for notifying the public of <br /> the impending closure. <br /> Solid Waste Disposal District Page 3 <br /> November 4,2014 <br />
