WHEREAS, <br />production of <br />the soil; and <br />P R O C L A M A T I O N <br />the well-being of our people depends upon the <br />ample supplies of food, fiber and other products of <br />WHEREAS, the quality and quantity of these products depend <br />upon the conservation, wise and proper management of the soil and <br />water resources; and <br />WHEREAS, protection of our surface waters from pollution is <br />dependent upon protection of soils from being blown or washed <br />into those waters; and <br />WHEREAS, conservation districts provide a practical and <br />democratic organization through which landowners are taking the <br />initiative to conserve and make proper use of these resources; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the soil conservation movement is carrying forward <br />a program of soil and water conservation in cooperation with <br />numerous agencies and countless individuals: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the week of <br />April 29 - May 6, 1990 be designated as <br />SOIL AND WATER STEWARDSHIP WEEK <br />in Indian River County, and the Board further acknowledges the <br />value of our soil and water resources to the public welfare, and <br />desires to honor those who protect those resources. <br />Dated this 10th day of April, 1990 <br />3 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN.RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Carolyn .
