PROCLAMATIONEveckGEO <br />5G <br />frob et( <br />DESIGNATING APRIL 22, 2014 AS EARTH DAY <br />IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners, Keep Indian River Beautiful, and <br />the Solid Waste Disposal District are committed to preserving and protecting our community; and <br />WHEREAS, Earth Day, April 22, 2014, celebrates its 44th year, founded by Senator Gaylord Nelson in <br />1970 to promote ecology and respect for life on the planet as well as to encourage awareness of the growing <br />problems of air, water and soil pollution; and <br />WHEREAS, Earth Day is celebrated with outdoor performances where individuals or groups perform <br />acts of service to planet earth. Ways of observing Earth Day include planting trees, picking up roadside and <br />shore trash, conducting various recycling to reverse environmental destruction; and <br />WHEREAS, each year on Earth Day, more than one million Americans unite to clean-up parks, <br />neighborhoods, and beaches; and <br />WHEREAS, Earth Day efforts uplift our communities, provide service to those in need and build <br />bridges of friendship among citizens, members of all faiths, civic leaders, and community organizations in <br />Indian River County; and <br />�.. WHEREAS, the Board encourages all residents of Indian River County to come celebrate Earth Day, <br />2014 on Saturday, April 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Sebastian Riverview Park. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board does hereby designate April 22, 2014 as Earth Day in <br />Indian River County. <br />Duly adopted this 22nd day of April, 2014 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Pe .
