In IRC, I could only find 8 parcels.
SLC does have a 300 acre section of vacant industrial park land, and about 50 acres of
additional developable land next to FEC's main line. But I believe the SCL Property Appraiser
lists about 100 parcels down through SLC that are the actual FEC RR right of way (ROW). No
such listing of ROW parcels appears to be present in the IRC Property Appraiser's or IRC Tax
Collector's rolls. I have no idea why the substantial difference between the two counties.
Thus, the final FEC RR comparison between SLC and IRC appears to be a stark contrast:
FEC RR ROW appears to have an Assessed Value in SLC of$26,818,893, vs. $282,820
in IRC
FEC RR ROW appears to pay a 2013 Tax in SLC of$661,896, vs. $5,656 in IRC
The Assessed Value and Taxes paid appear to be roughly two (2) orders of magnitude greater
in SLC than in IRC. If what I have discovered turns out to be true, it would appear that IRC is
icy I
