Baird, County Administrator <br /> FROM: John King, Director � <br /> Department of Em en�ervices <br /> FROM: Etta LoPresti, Emergency Management Planner <br /> Emergency Management Division <br /> DATE: May 30, 2014 <br /> SUBJECT: Approval of Resolution Adopting the 2014 <br /> Indian River County Emergency Plan for Hazardous Materials. <br /> It is respectfully requested that the information contained herein be given formal consideration by the <br /> Board of County Commissioners at the next scheduled meeting. <br /> DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br /> On November 5, 2013,the county commission approved the 2013/2014 State Funded Subgrant Agreement <br /> to update Indian River County's Hazards Analysis. The agreement provided adequate funding for the <br /> Emergency Management Division to review and modify our Indian River County Emergency Plan for <br /> Hazardous Materials. The updated plan was submitted to the Florida Department of Community <br /> Affairs/Division of Emergency Management for review. <br /> The submitted plan, consisting of over 800 pages, is measured against compliance criteria established by <br /> provisions of Section 303 (g) of the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986 (SARA) and <br /> administrative rulings by the State Emergency Response Commission. Per our agreement, the plan is <br /> reviewed annually. Currently, Indian River County has 28 agencies which meet the threshold of SARA <br /> reporting and review by the Emergency Management Division. <br /> On May 29, 2014,the Emergency Management Division was notified by the Florida Division of Emergency <br /> Management that our modifications meet the criteria outlined in our Scope of Work and is therefore <br /> approved. The Board of County Commissioners' adoption of this plan finalizes the grant agreement <br /> between Indian River County and the Department of Community Affairs/Division of Emergency <br /> Management. <br /> FUNDING: <br /> This is a 100% funded agreement to update the county's hazards analysis and review/update the Indian <br /> River County Emergency Plan for Hazardous Materials. No match is required by Indian River County. 43 <br />
