Miller <br />Staff Assistant III <br />SUBJECT: Traffic Inductive Loop Tester: Board Approval for Trade-in and Purchase of One <br />(1) Bus Interface Unit Tester <br />DATE: May 23, 2014 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />In accordance with County Capital Asset Policies and Procedures, the Traffic Engineering Division <br />seeks Board approval and authorization to trade-in one (1) traffic inductive loop tester. In the FY <br />2013/2014 Budget, the Board approved the purchase of a bus interface unit tester to replace the <br />inductive loop tester. The inductive loop tester can no longer be used due to video detection has <br />replaced the inductive loop system and has minimal salvage value. The bus interface unit tester <br />has been purchased and is needed for maintenance and testing the County's Traffic video <br />detection for signalized intersections. <br />The cost of the replacement bus interface unit tester is $5,488.00 and the trade-in value of the old <br />inductive loop tester is $400.00, resulting in a net purchase price of $5,088.00. <br />FUNDING <br />Funding for the purchase will come from Transportation/Traffic Engineering/Traffic Signals - <br />acct # 11124541-066440. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Office of Management & Budget Approved Disposal of Excess Property Memorandum <br />F:\TRAFFIC\MAYA\BCC AGENDA ITEMS - RESOLUTIONS\AGENDA ITEMS \TRADE-IN INDUCTIVE LOOP TESTER MAY 2014.DOC <br />86 <br />
