Baird, County Administrator <br />From: Vincent Burke, P.E., Director of Utility Services® <br />Prepared By: Arjuna Weragoda, P.E., Capital Projects Manager kw <br />Subject: Release of Retainage to Felix Associates of Florida, Inc., for the <br />Stormwater Forcemain and Brine Concentrate Construction part of the <br />Osprey Marsh Project —Bid No.: 2013038 <br />DESCRIPTIONS AND CONDITIONS: <br />On July 16, 2013, the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) awarded Bid No. 2013038 as part of <br />the Osprey Marsh Algal Turf Scrubber System project (formerly known as PC South) in the <br />amount of $1,164,853.40 to Felix Associates of Florida, Inc. The bid award was to construct a <br />Targe diameter (±24 inch) force main from the pumping station at the South Relief Canal near <br />27th Avenue, to the Osprey Marsh Site. The work also included the installation of a 12 -inch <br />diameter brine concentrate line from the South County Water Treatment Plant to the Osprey <br />Marsh Site. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />Felix Associates of Florida, Inc. has completed the stormwater force main and the brine concentrate <br />lines satisfactorily, on time and under budget and is requesting a final release of retainage. To date, <br />Felix Associates of Florida, Inc. has been paid $1,033,791.40. Payment in the amount of $54,410.07 <br />as release of retainage will complete the County's obligation to the contractor. The project came in <br />$ 76,651.93 under budget. <br />FUNDING: <br />Funds for this project are derived from the Renewal and Replacement (R&R) budget in the <br />operating fund.
