Mora, P.E. <br />Public Works Director <br />FROM: Jeanne B <br />Traffic Ana <br />SUBJECT: Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) with the Florida Department of <br />Transportation (FDOT) for: <br />c.� <br />Traffic Signal Maintenance and Compensation Agreement <br />DATE: May 7, 2014 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The FDOT has prepared a joint participation agreement (JPA), between the FDOT and Indian River <br />County, to allow the County to receive funding from the FDOT for routine maintenance of the <br />County -operated traffic signal system. The JPA will initially provide for $118,471.52 in funds in <br />FY 2014/2015, with increased funding in subsequent years. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The attached JPA is a standard agreement similar to many agreements the County has executed in the <br />past. The alternatives are as follows: <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Approve the JPA and authorize the Board of County Commissioners Chairman's signature, <br />on the JPA and authorizing resolution. <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Deny approval of the JPA and cancel the project. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS & FUNDING <br />Staff recommends Alternative No. 1— approval of the JPA.
