Page 2 <br />BCC Agenda Item <br />September 16, 2014 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On October 1, 2013, the Board approved a contract with Morgan & Eklund, Inc. (M&E) for <br />Professional Land Surveying and Mapping Services for a one-year term with an option for two (2) <br />one-year renewals. M&E is the selected County Consultant for professional onshore/offshore <br />hydrographic surveying services. <br />The proposed Work Order No. 2 provides professional hydrographic surveying services in order <br />for the County to submit requests for future artificial reef site permitting to the U.S. Army Corps <br />of Engineers. <br />Work Order No. 2 totals a lump sum amount of $47,260. <br />FUNDING <br />Local funding of Beach Restoration includes a portion of Local Option Tourist Tax Revenue as well <br />as allocation of the One Cent Sales Tax. Funding for Work Order No. 2 is budgeted and available <br />in the Beach Restoration Fund, Near Shore Reef Account No. 12814472-066510-14013. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The recommendation of staff is for the Board to approve Work Order No. 2 to the Professional <br />Land Surveying and Mapping Services contract with Morgan and Eklund, Inc. and authorize the <br />Chairman to sign on behalf of the County. <br />ATTACHMENT <br />Morgan and Eklund, Inc.
