Gray, Jr.0 <br />Coastal Engineer <br />CONSEN <br />SUBJECT: Work Order No. 5 Ecological Associates, Inc. <br />Sector 3 Dune Repair Project <br />Late Season Sea Turtle Monitoring Services <br />DATE: September 8, 2014 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On March 19, 2013 the Board approved a contract with Ecological Associates, Inc. (EAI) for <br />professional coastal environmental services in Indian River County for a two-year term, 2013- <br />2015. EAI is the selected County consultant for professional biological monitoring services <br />related to the Sector 3 Dune Repair Project. <br />The proposed Work Order No. 5 provides permit compliance sea turtle monitoring and if <br />necessary the relocation of sea turtle nests in order for the County to begin construction on the <br />Sector 3 Dune Repair Project November, 2014. Additional tasks under Work Order No. 5 include <br />permit required pre and post construction lighting surveys of the project area. <br />Work Order No. 5 totals a not -to -exceed amount of $21,376. <br />All subsequent annual biological monitoring of the Sector 3 Project area will be addressed <br />through future work orders. <br />FUNDING <br />Local funding of Beach Restoration includes a portion of Local Option Tourist Tax Revenue as well <br />as allocation of the One Cent Sales Tax. For FY 13/14, funding is budgeted and available for <br />monitoring of the Sector 3 Dune Repair Project in the Beach Restoration Fund, Sector 3 <br />Renourishment Post -Sandy Account No.12814472-066510-13014. <br />Work Order No. 5 has been reviewed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection <br />(FDEP) and is eligible for cost sharing at a 50% state share, based on Legislative appropriation <br />under FDEP Grant 14IR2 between Indian River County and FDEP. <br />F:\Public WorksUamesG\Sector 3 Repair Project\EAI Work Orders\WO No. 5\FINAL agenda item Ecological <br />Associates Inc Work Order 5.docx <br />77 <br />
