V <br />Revenue Manual <br />I xa Solid Waste Disposal District <br />Service Assessments <br />Fund 411 <br />REVENUE Service Assessments are computed on a per waste generation unit (WGU) basis. All <br />DESCRIPTION: improved residential real property, improved commercial real property, and any <br />other improved real property that generates or is capable of generating solid waste is <br />charged a residential or a commercial rate based on the number of WGU's they are <br />anticipated to generate. <br />LEGAL AUTHORIZATION Florida Statute 125.01(5)(a), 403.7049, County Code 204, Ordinance 87 - <br />FOR COLLECTION: 67, County Resolution adopted annually for current assessment rate. <br />SPECIAL Two public hearings with appropriate public notice. <br />REQUIREMENTS: <br />SOURCE: All improved residential real property, improved commercial real property, and any <br />other improved real property that generates or is capable of generating solid waste. <br />AUTHORIZED USE: All Solid Waste Disposal District expenditures. <br />METHOD OF PAYMENT: Property owner pays assessment to Tax Collector's Office who then remits payment <br />to the County. This assessment is collected on the tax bill via the "uniform method" <br />of collection in accordance with Florida Administrative Code Chapters 12D-18. <br />FREQUENCY OF Annual service assessments are due by March 31St, however a maximum 4% discount <br />COLLECTION: is given if paid by November 30th.
